SITE RULES AND REGULATIONS:
To ensure the safety of the hundreds of attendees at Southern Crusades XII, there are a number of common sense regulations we all must follow. The Baronies of Mons Tonitrus and Tir Ysgithr ask that everyone become familiar with the regulations below.

MINOR CHILDREN: The Baronies of Mons Tonitrus and Tir Ysgithr welcome families to attend the Southern Crusades with their minor children. We ask that you come prepared with proper legal documents and present these documents at the Troll Booth when you pay your site fee. Please, read the full rules and required documents.

WARNING! Any child or pet found unattended in a closed vehicle or tent during the day will be "rescued" by whatever means necessary and at the owner of the vehicle or tent's expense. At any time of the year in Arizona, the interior of a closed vehicle can reach lethal temperatures very quickly.

MINOR CURFEW HOURS! The SCA follows the Winkelman, Arizona "Minors Curfew," so parents/temporary guardians are expected to ensure that all minors 18 years of age and under are in their own camp or escorted by an adult after 10 p.m. Parents and temporary guardians should also be aware that the "Kingdom of Atenveldt Policy for Addressing Transgressions by Minors at SCA Events" will apply to minors attending SOUTHERN CRUSADES XII.

STAY OUT OF THE RIVERS!!!

Please stay out of the rivers, and be sure to watch your children and
instruct them to stay away from the water. This applies to ALL ages.

RULES FOR YOUR CAMP:

CAMPING AREA: Camping is only allowed in designated areas. Vehicles must be removed from the camping areas immediately after you have unloaded your gear. Security (The Watch) will ask you to move your vehicle if it is in the camping area, if it blocks a fire lane or impedes traffic.Vehicles not parked in the proper areas are subject to tow at the owner's expense.PARKING: You will be given a parking pass at Troll. You are required to display the pass in your vehicle in a visible area for the entire event. When arriving, please unload cars and trailers and move your vehicle to the designated parking areas as soon as possible.
  • SPECIAL WARNING! VEHICLES FOUND PARKED IN THE CAMPING AREA ARE SUBJECT TO BEING TOWED AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE. PARKING RULES WILL BE ENFORCED.
  • CAMP FIRES: All fires must be in park-supplied fire-rings or "off-the-ground" fire pits, with all embers contained. Be aware that large fires can send sparks and embers into neighboring tents, and you will be asked to extinguish them. Remember to keep flammable liquids (including all alcohol-based liquids, fuels and solvents) away from fires and other open flames.
  • FIRE EXTINGUISHERS: The Fire Marshal requires that each tent have a minimum of a 2-lb. ABC fire extinguisher OUTSIDE the tent within easy reach. We recommend also having one located by each kitchen area and fire pit.
  • TENT HEATERS: We cannot emphasize enough the very real and lethal danger of asphyxiation and carbon monoxide poisoning. Please use common sense when running propane heaters, ESPECIALLY in unventilated enclosures. We recommend extinguishing heaters and lanterns BEFORE bedding down. Watch over your friends, and your camp-mates.
  • TORCHES/LANTERNS/FIRE ARTS: No open-flames are allowed and "fire arts" performances are prohibited. All torches and lanterns must have a grill or mesh flue or be enclosed in some manner to reduce the chances of sparks and embers.
  • LITTER: Camps are to be left free of litter when you leave. The Baronies ask that all attendees live by the SCA motto to "always leave the site cleaner than you found it."
  • PRIVACY RIGHTS (TENTS): While attendees have the same privacy rights in their vehicles as in their homes, a tent in Winkelman Flats does not have the same protection as a domicile. Officers of the law do not need a warrant to search your tent.
  • PETS: Park regulations require that all pets (dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets, pigs, etc.) be under immediate control on a leash not exceeding six (6) feet in length or be caged at all times, and that dogs display a current dog license. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR PETS! And remember YOU are responsible for your pet's disruptive behavior or noise. Loose animals will be handled by modern authorities. SPECIAL WARNING! Arizona law prohibits leaving pets unattended in a vehicle, so any pets found in a vehicle or tent during the day will be "rescued" by whatever means necessary. At any time of the year in Arizona, the interior of a closed vehicle can quickly reach lethal temperatures.
  • CHILDREN: SPECIAL WARNING! It is prohibited to leave children unattended in a vehicle, so any children found unattended in a vehicle or tent during the day will be "rescued" by whatever means necessary. At any time of the year in Arizona, the interior of a closed vehicle can quickly reach lethal temperatures.
  • GLASS PROHIBITED: SPECIAL WARNING! Glass is prohibited, and there is a substantial fine ($300 per bottle) if local Law Enforcement finds you with glass bottles.

Services:

  • Security (The Watch): An all-volunteer SCA Security team will patrol the camping, parking and merchant areas. Security Point is staffed 24 hours a day from opening Thursday until close on Monday. Security volunteers are always needed and can volunteer at Security Point or through the Volunteer Autocrat.
